Facts & Figures

The Leopold Bachmann Foundation currently supports education and vocational training projects in 13 of its focus countries. At the moment, no projects are being supported in Venezuela. The current portfolio includes 27 projects in Southeast Asia, 20 in Southern Africa, and 12 in Latin America.

The Leopold Bachmann Foundation supports 59 projects in the areas of education and vocational training. The funding ranges from after‑school programmes at secondary level and university scholarships to youth‑oriented vocational training, teacher training, and further initiatives.

Mrs P. Nkomo shows students how to sieve flour during a baking class at Young Africa, a youth skills training centre in Chitungwiza, near the Zimbabwean capital, Harare. The centre offers short courses to young people and most of the cooking trainees go on to work for established restaurants. Young Africa International runs a variety of skills centres around the Continent supported by the Leopold Bachmann Foundation to equip young people with pathways to livelihoods.
