Don Bosco Jugendhilfe Weltweit: Solarprogramme West Africa
Renewable energies create a future for people and the environment
The Salesians of Don Bosco have developed a unique training program in solar technology that contributes to electricity supply, provides young people with a future-oriented profession and combats youth unemployment.
Lack of access to electricity and other energy sources affects the majority of people in Africa and has a significant impact on their economic development and social well-being. Low-cost renewable energy, especially from photovoltaic systems, is the key to success because it offers the possibility of turning challenges into opportunities.
At the Renewable Energy Center of Excellence in Ghana, young people are trained as professionals that are needed to design, install and maintain solar projects. In the following film, our partner Don Bosco Jugendhilfe Weltweit provides an insight into the West Africa solar program.
